About Me
I’m a qualified individual and group psychotherapist working near King’s Cross and Camden, in central London. I have a Master’s degree in Gestalt Therapy, and have been working with clients for over four years.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, eating disorders, trauma, relationship difficulties, addiction, and loneliness.
I’ve worked in community mental health settings and welcome clients with complex mental health needs and diagnoses. I work in a trauma-informed way with an emphasis on a relational, supportive approach. I have a special interest in eating disorders and was a guest speaker at eating disorder recovery groups in Canada.
I started training as a Gestalt psychotherapist because of my own ups and downs in life and receiving this type of therapy. Gestalt emphasises the contextual conditions contributing to your mood, thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and this was revelatory to me. I had a supportive relationship showing me I was responding to my life situation as best I knew how and could cope with, and there was nothing wrong with that. There was nothing wrong with me. From this place of acceptance and kindness I had renewed energy to look at the conditions in my life I could change, and began, piece by piece, to lay the foundations for fuller living.
I’ve worked as a sub-editor at the British Gestalt Journal which helped me stay informed of best clinical practice, research, and debate in Gestalt therapy, and also the wider therapeutic and counselling profession.
I’m a full clinical member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and subscribe to their code of ethics and professional practice.
